Abstract
The purpose of this management project was to research the literature and the current Bognor Regis’s perception, and to develop management recommendations to improve the town’s perception and to increase visitor footfall. Research was carried out through conducting online surveys, which were collected a total of 353 responses from residents and businesses in Bognor Regis. The survey participants were questioned on their current perceptions about tourist attractions in Bognor Regis and future actions to improve the town’s perception. This survey results enabled the researcher to identify the current perception of the town and to develop management recommendations that improve the perception and increase the number of visitors.
Results from the research showed that residents’ and businesses’ current overall perception about Bognor Regis was negative because of the quality of tourism facilities in the town. Recommendations from the study shows that the town should improve the quality of shopping experience in the town centre and the quality of support facilities at the seaside to increase positive perceptions.
